Another great benefit is the reduction of exhaust noise entering the cabin common with the thin-walled tubing used in other downpipes on the market. The Cobb downpipe comes in two version. The Street, and Race version.

The Cobb Street version begins with a cast bellmouth section that creates exhaust gasses to flow smoothly through 3 inch mandrel bent stainless steel piping into a state-of-the-art metallic catalytic converter. The catalytic converter flow so well they pose virtually no HP reduction on most street cars.

The Cobb Race downpipe version does not include any catalytic converter at all. This Cobb system replaces both the stock downpipe section and final catalytic converter section.  Also comes with an auxiliary O2 sensor bung located near the turbo in a position that's easy to reach from the engine compartment for wide-band O2 sensor use during tuning sessions. All flanges, hangers, O2 sensor bungs, casting and piping are constructed 100% from 304SS.
